When you want to keep energy costs low, every piece of your cooling system needs to be in good working order. An efficient air conditioner is only as good as its weakest link. So when it comes time to repair or replace the evaporator coil, you want to make sure you’re getting the right part—and that it’s going to be cost-effective.

Save Money on Your Evaporator Coils

Being able to make a repair is usually more affordable than going with a full evaporator coil replacement, but sometimes you just need to start with a new part. After all, swapping out an old part is going to cost a lot less than investing in brand-new equipment.

It’s a necessary fix, but that doesn’t mean you should over-pay.

Whenever evaporator coils wear out because of erosion and start to have refrigerant leaks, you know it’s time to go ahead and repair the issue with a new part. Call on Surplus City first. We’re usually able to set you up with just about any of the HVAC parts you need. We’ve got great deals on evaporator coils too!

Common Evaporator Coil Problems

The heat exchange process is only complete when the condenser and evaporator coils are working together. This is true for both air conditioners and heat pumps. While each type of system works differently, the importance of evaporator coils is the same. Noticing any one of these signs could mean that you’ve got an issue with that part:

  • • Warm air vs cold air coming from the vents
  • • Possible refrigerant leaking, or evaporator coil leak
  • • Air conditioner starts and stops but doesn’t cool the house
  • • Odd noises like banging and hissing from the cooling system
  • • Air conditioner won’t even turn on

A good cooling system relies on good evaporator coils. In case of any damage, you’ll want to get that part swapped out right away. No one wants to get caught with a broken-down system in the heat of summer!

HVAC Evaporator Coils: The Right Part for the Job

Regular tune-ups help keep HVAC systems running well through every season. But obviously we can’t avoid every single repair issue. It’s the nature of even the best HVAC equipment to run down eventually. Yet when a system is cared for properly over the years, that wear and tear doesn’t have to show up for a long time.

Part of that maintenance is as simple as keeping the equipment efficient with consistent air filter replacements. Leaving dirty air filters in the system only makes it more difficult to run properly and can put extra stain on the blower fan and other HVAC parts.

On the bright side, though, dealing with a broken evaporator coil doesn’t have to be a complicated fix. When you can source the right part for your equipment model, you can get that heat pump or air conditioner back on track relatively quickly. That’s how we can help!
